A great time at the 28th annual Toy Soldier Show
at the Woodfield Hyatt Sunday 9/28/08
The 28th annual Toy Soldier Show was a bright
spot on an overcast day. Victor Rudik, author of The One Inch
Army was my guest at a book signing during the show. I had the
opportunity to meet on line customers and collectors from around the
world. This is reputed to be the largest toy soldier show in the
country. Victor was treated to a customized lunch that
included pasta salad with sun dried tomato-Romano dressing, Black
Forest Ham on oat nut bread and Key Lime Pie with Black Raspberry
sauce. The last copies of his book are now available in my
Ebay store. All are autographed by Victor.
Although most of the show's displays are 54mm (much larger than
1/72) a huge variety of 1/72 figures and accessories were present
none the less.
1/72 Legions in Plastic Depot has
been created on Ebay by Michael Niksic for the serious, and beginner
miniature historic figure collector.
Starting when he was 8, Michael has built one of the finest
private collections in North America.
His store has one of the widest varieties of rare and
difficult to obtain 1/72-HO scale plastic figures.
